One moment he was hiding out in the wilderness during a famine, being fed by the ravens, and the next he was on the mountaintop where God showed up in a powerful way with fire and then rain. The prophet Elijah experienced this rollercoaster ride as well. Then there are those in between days when we’re coasting along without much thought to the highs or lows. With this hope in Christ, we remember that God's not done writing our stories. The faithful men and women of the Bible and in our lives are always meant to point us to Jesus-the only perfect man that's ever lived. Just as the heroes of the faith like Elijah, the people around us aren't perfect. Elijah will go on to live, and sadly, many of his later actions fall short of obedience to God.
